Self-Awareness | A Way of Life
Let’s talk about self-awareness. Knowing who you are and
your true nature is key to living a happier life. First, lets get this clear:
happiness is not a goal it’s a lifestyle. Once you understand that you will
stop looking for things that will make you happy and you’ll start just…being
happy. Part of this being happy, if I dare not say all of it, is being self-aware.
When you know you make mistakes because you are designed that way you’ll stop
looking for perfection and instead you’ll look for improvement and embracement
of your personality. You’ll stop looking to change yourself, and instead you’ll
embrace the difference and diversity that sets you apart from others.
Self-awareness makes you acknowledge your mistakes. With
that, you decide to improve certain areas but knowing that you, yourself, are
imperfect and that is ok. After all, actions do not define a person. Everyone
does bad things, but that doesn’t mean you’re a bad person. Everyone deep
inside is a good person… some people just let bad actions define who they are.
Today, I wanted to share with you a podcast that I have recently
discovered, The I Simply Am podcast with the amazing Josh Becker. This podcast
focuses on discussing topics about the actions and thoughts that form who we
are, leading to answer the question Who am I? Josh does a great job capturing
the audience ‘s attention and making his topics relatable to everyone. With just
a few podcasts, Becker had me thinking about myself as an awesome person, as
someone who makes mistakes but is perfectly imperfect.
In the podcast, Josh uses his own experiences and narrates
his feelings and thoughts in a way that makes it so real and genuine! What I
really love about the ISimply.Am podcast is that it gives the audience real
tools to use everyday that will help embrace who you are and help you live a
happier and more fulfilling life. The podcast ranges from 30-40 minutes, so
they are pretty short if you don’t have much “free” time.
If you’re looking for talks that could help you deal with
everyday life topics, I recommend you go hear the The I Simply Am podcast. If you
have an iPhone, then you can hear Becker’s podcast through the podcast app. If
you have an Android, I know there are podcast apps that you can download and
you’ll find Josh’s podcast there. If you
don’t have a smartphone, you can still listen to the podcasts through www.isimply.am. If you subscribe to Becker’s blog (through the website) you will get a
free book, called 5 Day Self Love Challenge
by Josh Becker. What more cold you ask for?
So, take some time for yourself. Listen to a few podcasts,
have a few moments alone and become self-aware of who you are, your environment
and the decisions you make. I highly recommend you give it a try! It will not
only make you happier with yourself but it will change your perspective on your
life.
You are great. You are awesome. You are you. Embrace it!
xoxo,
